Reynolds Insurance Agency, Inc. has been providing clients in Kentucky and surrounding states with knowledge and expertise since our opening in 1974. Headed up by a father and daughter team, our agency treats clients like family. We specialize in providing insurance policies for the construction business, and we carry a range of other products as well. Our team is comprised of licensed insurance professionals with the experience to advise our clients on the best coverages to meet their needs.
Owner and President
Paul Reynolds, owner and President of the agency, has been in business since June, 1974. Paul built the business from a desire to not only pursue his career, but also to provide his community with personal and professional service.
Paul was recruited and obtained a scholarship to play football at Kent State University. After obtaining his Business degree and completing his education at Morehead State University, he received training for his insurance company at Buckeye Insurance Agency in Columbus, Ohio. At the young age of 23, he started Reynolds Insurance Agency.
Paul’s love of sports placed him coaching as both high school head football and youth girls’ softball coach. He has served in many capacities in the local Berea community since 1974. His interest in the commerce growth of Berea led him to serve the Berea Chamber of Commerce, of which he is currently on the Board of Directors and Treasurer. Paul was previously elected as Man of the Year and inducted into the Berea Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. He also served two terms as President of the Chamber. Paul served on the Southern Madison Water District for 16 years. He also served on the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Board for Madison County Home Builders Association.
Paul raised two wonderful daughters as a single parent: Katherine, who is a commercial airplane pilot with Delta Airlines, and Carolyn, who is the agency manager and licensed insurance agent in multi-states.
In his leisure time, Paul enjoys spending time with his grandchildren Haley and Dylan and traveling. His dedication and love of farming is evident with his operation raising Fleckvieh Simmental cattle on his 150 acre farm in Berea.
Carolyn started her career in insurance in 1995. She attended Eastern KY University from 1995-2000, where she studied Insurance and Risk Management. She got her Property/Casualty and Life/Health licenses in 1998. Carolyn is the agency Principal/Producer of Reynolds Insurance Agency, Inc. and L Marion Oliver Insurance Agency in Berea and Richmond, KY.
She has served on the Board for the Madison County Home Builders Association for 12 years and is currently the President. Carolyn served on the KY State Home Builders Board from 2014-2016 as Associate Vice President and Vice President/Secretary. The KY Home Builders Association honored her in 2014 with the Gilbert E. Kittle Associate of the Year Award and in 2016 with the Presidential Leadership Award. She has also served on the fundraising committee for Hopes Wings (a nonprofit Domestic Violence Center) for 3 years, been an ambassador for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Insurance Advisory Board for Eastern KY University.
As a member of IIAK, Carolyn served on the KY Young Insurance Professionals Committee from 2001-2017. She has held the committee chairs for Events, Membership, and Education. Under her leadership of the Membership Committee, the KYIPs received the National Membership Award. She served as the 2010 KYIP Chair, held a seat on the IIAK Board of Directors in 2010, and participated in IIAK subcommittees that include Events, Membership, and Industry Partners. She was awarded the KY Young Insurance Professional of The Year Award for 2010. In 2013, Carolyn was asked by the President of the IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America) to serve on the National IIABA Young Agents Committee, where she mentored 11 states from across the country from 2013-2016. She and her father Paul Reynolds (who founded the agency in 1974) were featured on the cover of the IIABA National Insurance publication magazine called “IA” for their article featuring their niche in contractor business.
Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family: daughters Haley and Mandy and husband Hershell. She loves to ride their Harley, camp, boat, farm Simmental Cattle, and attend car shows. They attend Southland Christian Church, where Carolyn and Haley are involved in the Backpack Program.
Senior Personal Lines Agent
Sadie L. Shearer Causey is from Lancaster, KY and has 25 years experience in the insurance industry. Sadie joined the Reynolds Insurance Agency, Inc. staff on May 3, 2000 and serves as the agency’s senior personal lines specialist. Sadie’s primary responsibilities are to provide insurance proposals for prospective clients and to service the personal and commercial insurance needs of current clients.
Sadie and her husband of 49 years reside in Garrard County. In her spare time, Sadie enjoys cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, Raymond and Sidney.
Personal Lines Specialist
Christina has been an agent with Reynolds Insurance Agency, Inc. since December 2017 and serves as a personal lines specialist. She provides excellent customer service to current and prospective customers. Christina currently resides in Berea with her two children and husband. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing photography.
Monica (Smith) Bucher is local to Madison County. She grew up in Berea Kentucky, graduated from Berea Community School in 1989 and then moved to Richmond in 1999. Monica currently resides in Richmond Kentucky.
Monica has 25 years’ experience in the Human Resources arena, enabling her to be a strategic professional with excellent customer relations, management performance and safety administration. She received her Human Resources Certification from Eastern Kentucky University in 1997. She joined Reynolds Insurance Agency, Inc. in May of 2019, where she will specialize in both personal and commercial lines of insurance.
Monica enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, daughters Darica (Ryan), Danielle (Matt) and grandsons, Easton and Eli, who are the biggest joys of her life. Also, in her spare time, she enjoys car shows, camping with family and friends and her all of her fur babies.
